What is "Sponsoring"?

Our idea with sponsoring is to ask for help from our neighbors and friends to keep our organization afloat. Moreover, to keep on rescuing more cats and kittens- regardless of age, illness, injury, or initial personality. Please consider sponsoring a cat from our organization and help him or her live a happy and healthy life and find a forever home!

Humanimal Connection is a local non-profit, no-kill cat/kitten rescue. We are involved in rescuing cats/kittens (both domesticated and feral) from drop-offs, owners who cannot care for the animals, and over-populated shelters. We are also involved with feeding at feral colonies, trap/neuter/release, rehabilitating and socializing feral cats and kittens, and connecting these animals with loving and dedicated families.

However, for every kitten we adopt-out successfully, we have cats that for various reasons are fairly difficult to adopt out- these are the cats that need sponsoring. When we adopt out a cat or kitten, we require an adoption fee that pays for some of the medical costs and various supplies (food, litter, etc.). However, when despite our efforts, we cannot adopt out a cat, we pay the medical and life expenses out of pocket, which are beginning to accumulate enormously.

In truth, our organization prides itself on the health and happiness of our cats. We ensure health through maintaining vaccinations, spaying/neutering all cats prior to adoption, testing for FIV and Feline Leukemia, giving each cat a microchip, etc. We also only feed low by-product and natural foods (including Natural Balance, California Natural, and Wellness). Needless to say, our organization spends a lot of our funds to ensure the highest quality of life for our cats, which often time means we do not break even (financially) with the adoption fee.

Please remember that our organization is run entirely by volunteers- meaning we do not gain a financial income from rescuing these cats. We volunteer because we love animals and we love to connect other people with animals. We appreciate help because it will make it more possible for us to continue our great efforts everyday.
